Will you lose control? No. Hypnosis is not a drug, nor is it some kind of dangerous mind-controlling technique. All you will feel is slightly more relaxed than usual and perhaps more able to focus on the matters which are important to you.
Can you come with someone else? Of course you can! If any client wishes to experience hypnosis whilst someone else that they trust is present, this is absolutely fine. Clients are welcome to attend with a spouse or friend. Anything that helps you to feel more at ease is encouraged.
How will you feel during hypnosis? You will feel relaxed and comfortable. You will be fully aware of everything going on around you and, should you wish to do so, you will be able to ask any questions before, after or even during the hypnosis process.
How many treatments will I need? Each session lasts about an hour and most people begin to improve within 2 to 10 sessions. Together, you and your hypnotherapist will monitor and evaluate your progress over time. Children (aged 9 to 12) tend to respond after only one or two visits. Children may benefit the most from hypnosis, probably because they are most easily hypnotized.
What illnesses or conditions respond well to hypnosis?
Hypnosis improves immune function, increase relaxation, decrease stress and ease feelings of anxiety. Other conditions for which hypnotherapy is frequently used include addiction, chronic pain, obesity, asthma, fecal incontinence, problematic habits (sleep walking, thumb sucking, nail biting), smoking, losing weight, relaxation, exam nerves, etc.
Hypnotherapy is also an effective tool for managing chronic illness. It can lessen your need for medication, improve your mental and physical condition before an operation and reduce the time it takes to recover. Self-hypnosis can enhance a sense of control, which is often eroded by chronic illness.
Other problems or conditions that respond well to hypnotherapy include: • Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis) • Irritable Bowel Syndrome • Indigestion (Dyspepsia) • Warts • Tinnitus (Ringing in the Ears) • Fibromyalgia • Fractures • Cancer Related Pain • Labour & Delivery • Migraine Headaches • Stress • Bedwetting • Addictions • Phobias • Sleep Disorders, including Insomnia • Eating Disorders (Anorexia & Bulimia) • Weight Loss • Skin Disorders, like Acne, Psoriasis & Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis)
Our mission is to enhance healthy lifestyles for men and women of all ages through the creation of safe, easy and individualised self care and wellness plans.
